Lars Werner
It was the father of current owner Lars Werner who started making the Shoemaker Chairs in the early 1970s.
The history of this three-legged stool dates back to the 15th century, and although its shape has changed slightly over the centuries, it was used as a flat seated stool for milking cows. Eventually, a shoemaker carved it to fit the shape of his buttocks to make it more comfortable to sit on, and this inspired the stool to take on its current shape. That's why it came to be called the shoemaker's chair.
The person who took over the production of the Shoemaker Chair was Lars Werner, the president of Werner Company. Werner, who was originally a wooden shoe maker, wanted to once again release the chair that he loved and used like a part of his body, so we started reproducing it.
WERNER is a Danish brand famous for its masterpiece shoemaker chair. The history of the shoemaker chair dates back to the 15th century in Scandinavia, and its roots lie in the traditional Scandinavian three-legged chair used for long hours of work such as milking on farms.
