What is HAY's RESULT CHAIR?
The RESULT CHAIR was designed as a collaboration between Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld, who worked at Ahrend in the 1950s.

It has been reissued as part of the CUTOUT STEEL collection in collaboration with Ahrend and HAY.

The combination of an oak seat and back with a thin steel base makes the chair extremely flexible, lightweight and strong.

It can be used in a variety of places, including public facilities and private spaces. It is designed to be coordinated with the PYRAMID TABLE and desks, so using them as a set will create an even more luxurious space.

Wim Rietveld (1924-1985) and Friso Kramer (born 1922) were both from the Netherlands.

Wim Rietveld studied industrial design at the Hague Academy and in 1958 started working as an industrial furniture designer for De Cirkel, a steel furniture manufacturer that had merged with the Ahrend Group in 1939.
Friso Kramer studied interior design at the Institute of Applied Arts in Amsterdam and then worked as a designer at De Cirkel from 1948 to 1963.

Many iconic designs were created by the pair during their time at De Cirkel, including the RESULT CHAIR in 1958.
HAY has worked with Ahrend to recreate the original RESULT CHAIR design by Rietveld and Kramer.
