Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) was one of the greatest Danish designers of the 20th century, creating a huge number of high-quality furniture pieces that were rustic, minimalist, functional and durable.

After training as a cabinetmaker, Børge Mogensen studied furniture design at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and then architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He later became design director for the Danish cooperative FDB, where he worked to create furniture for the general public that combined high design and functionality with advanced industrial manufacturing techniques.
