The BKF Chair was released in 1938 by three Argentine designers (Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan, and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy). At the time it was sold by an American manufacturer, and was then handled by several European and American companies, becoming widely available around the world.

Cuero is located in the deep forest near Växjö, Sweden. Founded in 1987 as a manufacturer of leather clothing such as lambskin for the Nordic market, Cuero expanded into the interior industry with the production of the BKF chair.
