About Bjorn Wijnblad
This brand features the lovely designs of Bjorn Wijnbladt, a Danish national artist who was active for half a century from the 1950s, arranged into porcelain goods that are easy to incorporate into your daily life. He left behind outstanding works in a variety of genres, including pottery, graphics, performing arts, bookbinding, and posters. His picture-book-like, fantastical worldviews are unforgettable once you see them. It is said that they surprised the people of Northern Europe, who were once surrounded by simple designs.
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Björn Wijnblad (1918-2006) studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and in 1946 was in charge of ceramic design at Nymolle. He then established his own studio and was active in a wide range of fields, from ceramics, glass, and textiles to theater and stage art and costume design. His work was also popular overseas, and he worked on many international projects in Japan, America, Germany, Persia, and other countries.
