1616/arita japan 1616/arita TY "Standard" Scent by TY Incense Incense holder
Fragrance series in the 1616/arita japan collection
The product design for the incense and candles was created by Teruhiro Yanagihara.
The direction of the fragrance creation was handled by artist Izumi Kan.
When working on a fragrance, Izumi places great importance on the process of honestly feeling the roots of the place and the scenery that breathes there, and he first visits Arita to search for ingredients suitable for the land where 1616/arita japan was born.
Taking inspiration from the image of the layers of time that have accumulated since 1616, we transposed elements such as the pine wood that was originally used as fuel for firing in Arita, the Arita porcelain castle, the strength of the space of the Arita showroom, and the reddish color of the materials that permeate it into a fragrance.
The result is a fragrance that is completely new, yet exudes a sense of melancholy as if it has been there from the beginning; truly the brand's signature fragrance.

Kan Izumi is an artist who works on the theme of reviving physical senses through scent. Based in Awaji Island, he continues to create scents and collect and research materials related to scent. He calls his own atelier, "Kyu", "creation before dawn", and gets to know the materials that make up a scent - plants, soil, water... and what we really need.
About 1616 / Arita Japan Arita, Saga Prefecture, the birthplace of Arita ware, is said to be the place where the first ceramics in Japan were made by the founder of ceramics, Ri Sam-pyeong, in 1616. Even after 400 years, the unfading and uncompromising spirit of craftsmanship has been passed down to the people who support Arita today.

This is a chrysanthemum plate that can be used in a variety of situations, regardless of whether it is for Western or Japanese cuisine.
